Chapter or Unit Introduction
This page introduces the Mathematics chapter or the Chemistry Unit.
Lists of materials to read and other necessary information are given.
Topics and Concepts
This page (or pages) contains explanations and comments that emphasize important points about the topics, concepts, and material contained in the Math chapter or Chemistry Unit.

Example Problems

Shows solutions to example problems found in the Math Chapter or Chemistry Unit.  
Gives links to worksheets with practice problems and answers (that you may print out).

Homework Assignments

Lists various Homework problem assignments for the Math Chapter or Chemistry Unit that you are studying.  Some assignments will be in the textbook. Some are worksheets that you can print out or download. Occasionally, you will find a link to other sites (offsites) from which you may have to print out or download a worksheet.  If necessary, additional information will be given about such offsite assignments.
Unless otherwise indicated, Homework assignments will be handed in for credit in class.  
Special notification will be given on the web site or by E-Mail if an assignment may be submitted as an E-Mail attachment.

Solutions to Assigned Problems

After the deadline for submitting a particular Homework assignment has passed, solutions to Homework assignments will be given in class and then listed on the web site as time permits.  You can print or download the solutions for a later reference.

Activities

Some Math Chapters or Chemistry Units have student activities that may help to clarify a topic or improve a skill.  This page will list two types of activities:

  • Activites that must be completed for credit.
  • E xtra activites that may help the student to understand a concept or improve a skill.

These activities may consist of such things as:
Extra worksheets, Information gathering projects (reports), Powerpoint Presentations, or visiting other Web Sites and reporting on that visit.

Other Sites and Links

This page contains links to other sites that pertain to the Mathematics Chapter or Chemistry Unit that you are studying. The sites may be helpful in understanding a concept or improving a skill, but you are not required to visit those Web Sites.

Laboratory

For the some Chemistry Units you may have to perform a laboratory.  Some of the materials needed for the laboratory may be things you can find around your home (in the kitchen, bathroom, or workshop) or are inexpensive to purchase. Information concerning the Laboratory report on the results and conclusions will be given on this page.  

Subject Downloads and Programs

This page gives information about suggested programs that may be helpful to illustrate a concept or mprove a skill. The suggested programs may be downloadable or commercial software that can be purchased locally. Information about problems with downloading or installing a program will be given on the page.

Quizzes and/or Tests
This menu item will be found only on the introduction page of each Math Chapter or Chemistry Unit.  The Tests or Quizzes are just for practice. Test that are counted for credit will be given in class.

E-mail Instructor
